  Chapter 1

Standing under the hot water, my aching muscles start to relax after my Aikido class work out. I love the class, the discipline, and the way I can find a balance between my body and mind. I get out of the shower, dry, dress and head home.

As I put the key in the door, I can hear the TV and smile knowing that my best friend is home. I haven’t seen her in a week as she was away with her boyfriend. I throw my gym bag into my room and go into the living room to find Stacey lying on the couch curled up with a bowl of popcorn.

“Hey Stace, how was your break?”

She looks up at me and gives me a huge grin showing off her dimples. “Hey Char, it was excellent, I had the best time. It went so fast though.”

I sit down on the end of the sofa and put her feet back up on top of my lap. “That’s great. Gary was on his best behaviour?” She grins at me and I laugh. “Ok, so you both took the plunge. Good for you, Stace.”

“It felt right, we both wanted it, so we did, and it was awesome!”

I hold up my hand. “I don’t want any details, thanks, Stace.”

She laughs and nudges me with her foot. “I wasn’t going to give you any. Anyway, what about you? Have you had any luck in the girlfriend department?”

I shake my head. “No, and I haven’t been looking either.”

“Why not Char? It’s been a while and you must have girls throwing themselves at you when you’re doing security at the nightclub.”

“I have been given a few numbers, but I’m not interested, Stace. It will happen when it happens if it’s meant to be.”

She frowns at me. “Do you go around wearing blinders or something? You could have met someone special already and just let them go.”

I just shrug. “Stace, I don’t know what I’m looking for and I am still considering enlisting, how fair is that to someone?”

“You should let them make that choice. There are lots of couples that have enlisted partners and they still work. You are putting up obstacles that shouldn’t even exist before you meet someone.”

I let her words sink in. ‘Am I doing that? Could I start something, be gone and still have them wait for me while I’m away?’

I sigh. “I will think about it ok? Now I need some food and then off to work. What do you want Stace?”

She looks at me and grins. “You know I always like your spaghetti Bolognese.”

I laugh. “Yes, I know you do. If you come into the kitchen occasionally I’d show you how to cook the damn thing.”

“I would only get in the way of your culinary genius, I can’t do that.”

I walk past and laugh. “Sure, that’s your excuse.”

I prepare the meal, we sit down to eat, and Stacey advises she will do the wash-up. I quirk my eyebrow and laugh considering we have a dishwasher. “That is very generous of you, thanks, Stace.”

She grins and shrugs. “Least I can do, after all, you cooked.”

I get up from the table and go into my room to change into my uniform for work. I come back into the living room and Stacey has my ID armband. She comes over and puts it on my arm for me.

  “What is it, Stace?”

She looks at me and smiles. “I’m being helpful.”

I wait for her to continue, knowing there is more she wants to say. I cock my head to the side.

She sighs. “Fine, I want you to actually look around tonight and if someone catches your eye, get a number or talk to her.”

I sigh. “Stace, I will be working. You know I must keep everyone safe and make sure no one gets hurt. If anything gets out of hand, I have to diffuse it and can’t be distracted looking around for potential bedmates.”

“Jesus Char, stop being so clinical, you can look around! Yes, be on your guard but you can have a look around. You are capable of doing both at the same time.”

I look at my watch. “I have to go, Stace.”

She sighs sadly at me and steps out of my way. “Just think about it, ok?”

I lean in and kiss her on the cheek. “I will think about it.”

I leave the house and make my way to the nightclub and as usual, I’m early. I go in, sit at the bar and talk to Mandy until Brian comes. We go through our rota for the night and make sure everything is in order with fire escapes and the first aid kit. The nightclub is one of the biggest on the gay scene and it draws a huge crowd. Tonight is no different.

I am letting in the patrons when I hear a noisy group in the queue. I look down and notice a group of four. Three of them are animated and one looks like she does not want to be there, but she looks cute. They look underage though and that is causing me a problem. I am estimating them at 18 years old, maybe 19.

Brian looks down the line too and notices the same group. He waves to one of them and I see that they have been here before. I keep clicking to count the number of patrons going in and the group is coming closer. I get to see the mystery girl a bit more and was somewhat off base by just calling her cute. She is beautiful! I know she is a little younger than me, but her eyes are blue with beautiful brown hair and she has a great body. Damn, as she smiles at her friends her eyes sparkle.

Her group is the next. I let her friends go in and stop her to ask for her ID. It’s wrong, but it is my chance to follow what Stace had suggested and I take a moment to flirt a little.

  ****

I am standing in this damn queue to get into the nightclub and regret agreeing to come out already. I look at my best friends, they are already in hyper chatter and practically dancing to no music. This is the first time I have come to the nightclub with them. To be honest, it’s the first time I have tried to get into a nightclub for over 21 when I am only 18.

I came out to my friends a couple of months ago and since then, they’ve been on my case to come along. I finally gave in and now I am standing in line, in the cold waiting for the bouncer to let us in. I am the only one that would pass for being over 18 out of my friends, although I am the youngest. Miranda is the oldest at 21 and it is her idea to come here. The other two are 18 and 19 but are much more confident and have been here a few times.

I have brown hair, blue eyes, and five feet four inches and graced with a very nice pair of breasts and a medium build. I would probably describe myself as good looking. Oh yeah, my name would be a good start, it is Emily.

My friends, on the other hand, were baby-faced and had very little in the breast department. By the way, they
were acting it wouldn’t take a genius to figure out which of us were underage. I have a look at the queue ahead and notice that there is only one bouncer at the door and female, not much older than me. I would guess her at probably 22 years old, tone looks fit, but she isn’t bodybuilder fit and only a little taller than me. She has short dirty blonde hair and doesn’t look like a force to be reckoned with. She looks down the line, no doubt hearing the raucous noise from my friends and I am even more captivated by her.

She allows some more of the queue access and it’s my group next in line. She looks at my group and I get a sinking feeling that she is going to turn us away. She eyes up my friends, then turns to me and asks for my ID. I cock my head to the side, this is a first, but I don’t hesitate and give her my fake ID. I’m a little nervous since this is the first time I have used it and she allows my friends to go in but has stalled on me. I watch as they turn to watch, and I make a subtle movement for them to keep walking on. I look up at the bouncer and give her my best smile and she smirks at me. She nods for me to go in and as I do, she doesn’t give me back my ID.

“I’ll keep this for later, don’t drink too much in there, especially the other three. I want to keep my job.”

I cock my head to the side and she smiles. “Go in.” She looks at the ID. “Emily, I will come find you later, save a dance for me.”

I smile and nod. “Sure, I’ll save a dance for you and your name would be?”

She grins. “You’ll find that out later too.”

I laugh. “I bet I will see you later then.”

She gives me a salute and I walk into the nightclub. Just before I go through the door, I look back and see that she’s still watching me. I smile, shake my head, and go find my friends. I can’t wait to tell them about this, they’re going to flip out.

I thought I’d have been more nervous about being chatted up, but it was nice, and she was stunning. She has a beautiful smile and I love how her eyes lit up when she did. She could have easily stopped the four of us from coming in. She knows we were underage and knows that the ID was fake. I need to speak to Sue about that. So much for her and her guy can do no wrong when it comes to fake IDs. It didn’t fool that blue-eyed beauty out there. Come to think of it, I’m not really that pissed about it.

I spot my three friends waving frantically at me as they stand at the bar. I wave back and make my way over.

“I was getting worried, we didn’t think you were getting in.”

I look at Sue, “I nearly didn’t, and your ID was a bust. She knows we’re underage so be warned, don’t step out of line. She let us in, so don’t get rat-arsed and have her throw us out.”

Sue looks at me. “The IDs are always good, we have never had an issue you must have given her a vibe of some sort to get yourself busted.”

I laugh at her. “I gave her a vibe that was it. It’s not like she is good at her job, could spot a fake ID from twenty paces and was just being nice and let us in this once?”

Sue takes a drink of some green coloured cocktail and I sigh. “You’re starting on cocktails?”

“Why not? We are here to enjoy ourselves and there are some fine-looking women here tonight. Loosen up Emily, get a drink and then we will hit the dance floor so you can look around and see if you spot anyone you like.”

I get a drink from the bar, we manage to get a booth taking a seat we have our drink as we look around. I look around and it’s not a bad spot, the music is good, and the crowd is decent. My eyes are drawn to a figure walking around the dancefloor and I see that the bouncer is now inside. They must have closed the doors for entry. She is looking around watching everything and our eyes meet. She grins at me; nods and I smile back. It doesn’t go unnoticed by Sinead and she nudges me. “That’s how you got in, she likes you. She picked you out of the group and asked for your ID, so she’d have your name.”

I think of what she said, and it makes sense. I wonder how many other girls she has picked up like that. Sinead nudges me again. “What are you thinking?”

I shrug. “How many times she has done that before?”

Sinead smirks. “Probably a couple of times, but in my opinion, I’ve been here a few times now and she has been working every time. I haven’t seen her pay that much attention to anyone ever before. She is meant to be watching the crowd but seems to only have eyes for you.”

I take a drink, move around as subtle as possible to see what Sinead is talking about and sure enough, the blonde-haired beauty is looking my way. She catches me looking, smiles again knowing I have caught her looking at me and tries to make it look like she’s scanning the crowd but her eyes glance back at me making me grin. It appears I have captured the bouncer’s attention and that’s an exciting feeling. I was enjoying looking at her before I was rudely dragged to the dance floor and my view was obstructed, I couldn’t see her any longer. I danced with my friends for a couple of songs, then we make our way back to the bar and get another round of drinks. I’m not a big drinker, so I switch to a soft drink, one of us should watch over the others if they have too much to drink.

It is turning out to be a good night. Sue found herself a woman and is glued to her lips, Sinead is currently being chatted up and Miranda is off doing what Miranda does. She had left with a very cute brunette about an hour ago. I am at the edge of the bar when I feel a tap on the shoulder. I turn around and there is the blonde-haired beauty no longer in her bouncer jacket. She has a crisp white fitted shirt, my eyes look at her body and I must admit I really like what I see. As my eyes slowly make their way up to hers, she is smiling. “I’m finished for the night, I was hoping you saved me that dance?”

I look at her, leave my drink at the bar and move towards her. “I think I have one more dance in me.”

She grins, and we make our way to the dance floor. She is a great dancer and I take every opportunity to dance close to her as she does to me. It’s not long before we are kissing. It’s my first kiss and I know I have nothing to compare it to, but it feels amazing. Her tongue moves across my bottom lip and I immediately open my mouth to give her access. Her tongue enters my mouth and starts to move along with mine. Our bodies move closer together as the kiss gets heated. I’m in heaven as I am transported to another dimension of bliss. Her hands roam over my back and make their way down to my ass. I feel myself getting turned on with every passing second.

We pull away from our blissful stupor as Sinead taps me on the shoulder. “Emily, Sue has gone off with the girl she was glued to and I am going home with that cute blonde over there. Do you want to leave with us now?”

I look at the blonde in my arms who is still yet to tell me her name and I smile. “I’m fine here Sinead. I will get home safe and text you.”

Sinead eyes me then looks at the woman in my arms and smirks. “Good for you Emily, have fun.”

She saunters off leaving me in the arms of the blonde who just smiles at me. I quirk my eyebrow. “What?”

She grins. “It’s good to know that you are interested.”

  “Why so cocky?”

“You stayed when all your friends have left. You chose to stay here with me.”

I grin because it’s true, I am interested in her. “I guess you should tell me your name now.”

She smirks and pulls me into her. “My name is Charlie.”

  Chapter 2

The lights come on in the nightclub as the night ends. Charlie and I have been inseparable since we had our dance. We danced together, kissed, had a drink together and when I say drink it was a soft drink. Charlie is driving home and I didn’t want alcohol. We seem to strike up a nice connection and there is definitely a spark there.

Charlie takes me outside, we kiss again, and I know I want to go home with her.

“I know it’s late, but I don’t really want to say goodnight yet. Do you want to take a walk with me and then I will drive you home?”

It’s not what I was expecting to hear but I smile and nod. “I’d like that.”

&nbs
p; She grins, holds out her hand and I take it straight away. As we were about to walk away from the nightclub, I hear the other bouncer giving Charlie a tough time.

“My God Charlie, I never thought I would see the night.”

  “Shut it, Brian.”

He holds up his hands in surrender and laughs. “I’m showing you love Charlie, have a good night and see you tomorrow.”

Charlie smiles. “I’ll be here, see you Brian, and have a good night.”

We walk away from the noise of the nightclub. “I’m sorry about him, he always likes to tease me about something.”

“He sounded surprised that you were leaving with someone. Is this not something you normally do?”

Although it is dark, and the only light is the street light, I see the blush on her cheeks and it makes me smile. I wait for her answer as she slows her walk and moves in front of me. “I have never done it before. You are the first girl I have ever taken their ID off to flirt. I saw you in the queue and wanted to have some chance of talking to you. It was probably the lamest way of doing it, but it was the only thing I could think of before you got to the top of the queue.”

This revelation comes as a surprise to me and I feel more special. I grin, move in closer to her and we start to kiss again. I really could get lost in the sensations of her mouth. It’s as if there are fireworks going off inside my head and I am loving every minute of it.

She breaks the kiss, smiles at me, pecks my lips again moves beside me and we walk towards the park. The night is calm but cool and I shiver. Charlie notices, quickly takes off her jacket and wraps it around my shoulders.

I try to protest. “Charlie, you will be cold now with no jacket.”

She smirks. “I will be fine, I’m warm enough and I prefer that you are warmer.”

We walk to a nearby bench and sit down. I move the jacket, so we can share, and it means we can sit closer together.

“This is nice. I was reluctant to come out tonight but for once I’m really glad my friends pushed me into coming along.”
